We at Home by WDL, know the impact the coronavirus has had both on how we are experiencing life in our homes, work in our homes, and how our homes have become our sanctuaries and our safety from the scary things happening in the world outside. We have had to make adjustments in our homes, like creating home-schooling spaces for our kids or home offices for work meetings and making these changes has helped many of us realize that our home can be more functional and livable than we may have ever thought. During this very difficult time, consider making your home not only functional but beautiful as well and have it become your place of inspiration and happiness.

Home by WDL is a subsidiary of Well Designed Living, a full-service interior design studio located on Long Island, NY. We work with residential and commercial clients in the NYC and tri-state area.

Home by WDL is a full-service interior design studio and online product showroom in New York. Our mission is to create beautiful spaces our clients will love. In the new world of DIY homeowners with all different budgets, I want to inspire online shoppers with products that I have personally chosen to help you create spaces that are inviting and make you proud to live in and share with others. These are items that you may not be able to find in the 'big box' stores and that ship directly to your home. I have partnered with many companies to create a place where you can shop for quality pieces within every budget. One of my favorite design tricks is to mix high end pieces with pieces that look high end but are budget friendly making your space look well designed but not stuffy or overdone.

We offer virtual design services for those who want to have access to an interior design professional, but may not have one nearby or feel that it is out of their budget and of course our online chat feature is available for any simple questions that you may have.

So, what holds you back from making the changes in your decor that will transform your home into an “inspiration?” Do you worry that redecorating will be too expensive, or that you are limited because you have children and pets in your home? Maybe you are a renter and feel you can’t change anything. Perhaps you just have too much stuff cluttering your space. Are you concerned that no one else in your home appreciates your style? Maybe you don’t even know what style suits you or where to even start.

We are here to help you!

Look at dressing a room as you do getting dressed everyday. You start with the basics. In this case a good quality table in a neutral wood tone, light colored beige chairs were added but if you choose to add color to your room this is a good place. A navy chair would be just as nice. The bench takes up less room when pushed in and is versatile especially if you have a smaller space. A more formal crystal chandelier would look just as beautiful as this simple silver one. Next comes the “jewelry”. In this case a wooden tray with simple candles and some very soft art work. Again, if you wanted to add color you could change the color of the candles and make the art more colorful. A neutral area rug or one with a splash of color grounds the table and chairs and makes the room feel like an inviting space. Like a good handbag or gorgeous pair of shoes. Lastly a mirror, whether it be wall mounted or this floor mirror makes the space feel bigger and balances the art work and server on the other side of the room.
